San Diego...a month after the fact!

June 13-18, 2012

Mom, Dad, Nathan and I spent a few days down in San Diego at the beginning of the summer.  I've been so busy (and lazy!), that I'm just now getting to blogging about it.  (And I know...I still need to do a Disney World post from April!)  We had a blast at Sea World and the San Diego Zoo.  My favorites at Sea World were the sea lions, sharks, and dolphins.  Jeremy and his family joined us for one day here which was fun.  Eli and Ava were so cute and excited!  My favorites at the zoo were the 6 week old baby giraffe, the hippos, the orangutang who kept tackling his grandma, and the cougar who kept staring at Nathan in his tiger shirt like he was going to attack him.  It was a way fun trip with my amazing family.  :)

I Can Fly!

I had one of the most amazing experiences of my life today!  Chelsea and I went on a hotair balloon ride in Park City.  It was amazing, exhilarating, and terrifying!  We were 4500 feet up in the air in a tiny little basket held up by only a balloon!  It was so beautiful.  At times, I would be fine and then a wave of terror would wash over me.  It was kind of funny!  But I made it out alive!  The funniest thing was when a stick floated by us in the air.  We were moving faster than the stick so it looked so weird and totally freaked me out!  I can't even begin to describe how I felt, so I'll just let some pictures do the talking.  :)

Man, Time Flies!

Time just seems to pass more and more quickly!  These past few months have been crazy busy but I finally have some time to work on catching my blog up.  I feel like I'm always teaching, going to meetings at the district, doing things for my calling at church, doing things with my family, or going out with friends.  I like to be busy, but lately I've been a little too busy.  I haven't even taken time to blog about Disney World!  And that will have to wait for another post because it will be huge!  So here are just a few glimpses into what I've been up to.

On May 12, I ran the Moab Red Rock Relay with some teachers from Manila: Jen Dibb, Kacie Moore, Chris Shores, Kadi Landry, and Bre Gibson.  We named our team the Trottin' Teachers.  It was so much fun!  All of the blisters, sore muscles, chaffing, dehydration, exhaustion, and sunburn were totally worth it because of the friendship, runner's high, and sense of accomplishment.  It took us just under 12 hours to run 70 miles.  :)

For Memorial Day, I went camping with mom, Nathan, Ryan, Becky, McKenna, Tanner, and Kellan down at Utah Lake.  It was cold and rainy but we still had a good time.  There's nothing better than sitting around a campfire and roasting marshmallows to make S'mores!

On June 2nd, I turned 29 and it was one of my most memorable birthdays ever.  It also happens to be Chelsea Nelson's birthday on the same day, so we decided to celebrate together.  We went to Park City really early in the morning to ride a hot air balloon, but it was cancelled because of weather.  We didn't let this stop us from having an amazing birthday!  We spent 3 hours driving around Park City taking random pictures while we waited for things to open.  We also walked around Olympic Park, built rock cairns on the side of the road, and started crying in Burger King because we were laughing so hard.  Then we rode the Alpine Slide, Coaster, and Zip Line.  It was so fun and unforgettable.  Then I had a way fun picnic at the park with my amazing family.  It is so fun to watch my nieces and nephews play together.  So thank you everyone for an amazing birthday!

I can't believe I am 29!  Like I said...Time flies!  As I look back over the last 29 years, I am so thankful for all of the amazing people that have supported me and loved me through my ups and downs.  I am in a good place in my life now and feel very blessed.

Stay tuned for that Disney World post and any other adventures I find myself in this summer!  Love you all!

Happy Early Easter!

Because we will be in Disney World on Easter (I am sooooo excited!), we had our family Easter party a week early.  We enjoyed a delicious dinner (thanks, mom!) and watched the kids hunt for Easter eggs in the backyard.  It was a very fun day with the most fun family in the whole world!

I am so thankful for the real reason we celebrate Easter.  I am deeply grateful for my Savior.  I would be lost without his Atonement and Resurrection.  I am so thankful for the knowledge that I will be with lost loved ones again and that my family can be eternal.

Happy Easter!!!!!!!!!

I Love to See the Temple!

I did it!  I took a step forward and I went to the temple today to receive my endowment.  It was an amazing experience, especially because I was surrounded by so many people that I love.  Thank you to everyone who came to support me (including those who sent texts or facebook messages saying they wish they could have been there!).  I felt the spirit strongly and know I was where Heavenly Father wanted me to be.  I have felt His and my Savior's love a lot lately, and for this I am truly thankful.

Lady A Owned the Night!

Valentine's Day 2012 was awesome!!!!  I spent the day with 27 cute and excited first graders who spoiled me with Valentine's.  Then I went to the Lady Antebellum concert with Hannah and Andrea.  They were AMAZING!!!!  They sounded great and the energy level was so high.  Their opening acts were Thompson Square and Darius Rucker who were also amazing.  I was a little deaf and exhausted the next day, but it was totally worth it!!!!!
